Kristin Klingman, Program Assistant
Kristin Klingman is a member of the Lac Vieux Desert Band (LVD-Anishinaabe) in what is currently known as Watersmeet, MI, and has served as program assistant for the Loka Initiative, supporting the Sacred Wisdom, Sacred Earth documentary project since 2021. She is currently completing her certification as a Somatic Therapy Practitioner through Somastery Therapeutics, expanding her practice of land-based, body-centered healing rooted in Indigenous values and spiritual resilience.
Her creative and healing work is also expressed through her practice as an apprenticing Anishinaabe weaver in traditional fiber arts. Kristin works with culturally significant materials such as cedar, basswood, bulrush, and birch bark—as well as her own handmade paper—to weave in the ways of her ancestors while embedding new stories, insights, and questions. She is a mother of three and finds joy in tending her garden, foraging, and making plant-based medicines.
